Thermopylae Forum 2026: The Top 16 Students of Last Year’s Panhellenic Exams Honoured for Their Success

Students – now university students – are showing the way towards the future…

The session dedicated to honouring students who excelled in the most recent Panhellenic exams and are now studying at the schools of their choice is always a special moment at the Thermopylae Forum Strategic Conference.

After all, the effort made through the Thermopylae Forum to highlight and develop the historic site — and, by extension, the entire regional unit and the wider region — aims at a better future for young people, for our children.

“As always, Fthiotida stood out, with 46 students achieving an average score of over 18, while many more children excelled in two or three subjects and perhaps only a small misfortune placed them slightly lower,” pointed out LamiaReport Editor-in-Chief Kyriakos Karagiannis, who presented the awards.

This year, once again, those who exceeded an average score of 18.5 were honoured — an achievement reached by 16 students. The award was accompanied by a cash prize of €300 for each student, with the kind support of the Vice President of the Thermopylae Forum, lawyer Sotirios Bregiannos.

In his speech, Mr. Bregiannos placed particular emphasis on the problems faced by today’s families and, by extension, by children, also calling on educators to play their important role.

As he said, he was particularly moved by the theme of the session on juvenile delinquency and internet addiction, while he also made special reference to the presence of two important figures — the two American Generals who travelled from the United States especially “to speak about what they carried in their souls regarding Thermopylae and their symbolism,” as he characteristically noted.
