The greeting of the Regional Governor of Central Greece, Fanis Spanos, at the Thermopylae Forum 2026…

With a warm welcome to the guests of the Thermopylae Forum 2026, the Regional Governor of Central Greece, Fanis Spanos, greeted the opening of the conference, which, as he noted, has become an institution and highlights Thermopylae “not only as a historic site of global significance, but as a living space of contemporary dialogue, cooperation and perspective for the future.”

He made special reference to the distinguished figures from Greece and abroad participating in the conference, contributing “with their knowledge and experience to a meaningful and multi-level dialogue.”

Taking his cue from His Eminence Metropolitan Symeon of Fthiotida, the Regional Governor also noted how instructive it should be for each of us to evaluate our defeats and emerge from them stronger.

Mr. Spanos underlined the commitment of the Regional Authority to supporting every initiative that connects the historical identity of the region with its modern development potential, promoting extroversion, innovation and sustainable development.
