For the fourth consecutive year, the Thermopylae Forum, the leading strategic conference that places Fthiotida at the heart of developments and public dialogue, opened its proceedings at the historic site of Thermopylae, in the welcoming hall of the Historical Information Centre, under the theme “From Dialogue to Action.”

The Thermopylae Forum 2026 began with welcome speeches by the organisers: Dimitris Konstantopoulos, Chairman of the Board of the Thermopylae Forum, journalist and owner of LamiaReport, and Alexandros Giannellos, President of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development.

A series of important discussions and speeches will follow, aiming to highlight issues concerning the development of the region and the undertaking of initiatives in this direction.
This year, the conference hosts retired U.S. Army Generals Michael Erik Kurilla, who until last August served as Commander of CENTCOM, and Andrew P. Poppas, former Commander of FORSCOM.

As every year, special emphasis is also placed on students, the future of this region and of our country, through the Excellence Awards. This year, students from primary and junior high schools across Fthiotida who “guard Thermopylae” will also be honoured.
We look forward to welcoming you to the historic site of Thermopylae, to share ideas and proposals so that, through cooperation, initiatives can be undertaken for the place we love.
The Thermopylae Forum 2026 is held with the honorary cooperation of the Holy Metropolis of Fthiotida and with the support of the Region of Central Greece and the Municipality of Lamia.
Admission is free for the public.
