The Thermopylae Forum 2026 will take place on Saturday, May 16, at the Thermopylae Historical Information Center, aspiring once again to serve as a point of meaningful dialogue, international outreach and strong symbolism.

You can watch the Forum LIVE here.

Under the central theme “From Dialogue to Action,” this year’s conference takes on a distinct international dimension with the presence of retired U.S. Generals Michael Erik Kurilla and Andrew Poppas, who are coming to Thermopylae to take part in a dialogue on life stance, leadership, resilience, boldness and responsibility.

The presence of the two retired U.S. Generals lends particular weight to the Forum and highlights the timeless message of Thermopylae, not as a symbol of conflict, but as a point of reference for leadership, responsibility, resilience and the power of decisions in critical moments.

This year’s Forum will also welcome prominent figures from the fields of politics, science, business, the media and society, who will contribute to the thematic sessions and to the conference proceedings as a whole.

Excellence Awards

The Institution of Excellence will once again hold a special place this year, with the honoring of top-achieving students and schools of Phthiotis, as a tangible recognition of the new generation and a meaningful investment in the region’s human capital.

Thermopylae Forum 2026 is being held with the honorary cooperation of the Holy Metropolis of Phthiotis and the support of the Region of Central Greece and the Municipality of Lamia.

Admission is free.
