“From Dialogue to Action: It is not a slogan; it is a commitment.”

With a deeply moving speech, the President of the Thermopylae Forum, journalist and owner of LamiaReport, Dimitris Konstantopoulos, opened the proceedings of the 4th Strategic Conference Thermopylae Forum 2026, held under the theme “From Dialogue to Action,” welcoming those present to the hall of the Thermopylae Historical Information Centre.

With the promise that the above is not just another slogan but a commitment, Mr. Konstantopoulos underlined that Thermopylae is not only a global symbol of the past, but an open challenge for the future.

Borrowing the well-known phrase of the poet from the poem bearing the name of the historic site, the President of the Thermopylae Forum described those who “guard Thermopylae” in modern life. From the hardworking farmer and the teacher serving in remote areas, to the professional who does not give up in the face of difficulties, the family person who keeps their family standing, the student who falls and rises again, and all of us who dream of contributing to society.

With this call to action, he concluded his speech, stressing that “we did not come to this conference to say fine words, but to serve, each from our own position, something greater than ourselves.”

The speech of the President of the Thermopylae Forum was preceded by a brief greeting and welcome address by the President of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development, Dr. Alexandros Giannellos.
