The moving message of the Shepherd at the Thermopylae Forum 2026…
For yet another year, the Holy Metropolis of Fthiotida and His Eminence Metropolitan Symeon of Fthiotida support the Thermopylae Forum 2026.
Deeply moved by the tragic news of recent days, and with tears in his eyes, the Shepherd of the Church of Fthiotida reminded the audience that “Thermopylae was a defeat, yet one that illuminates the world and gives meaning,” underlining that many times our defeats and weaknesses can become our greatest treasure, while calling on us not to fear our failures.
His Eminence also referred to the University of Central Greece as something important and closely linked to the development and prospects of the region.
In closing, he sent a message of hope, optimism and struggle, saying: “We will not give up; we will fight until the end.”
