Elena Rapti: Supporting the family and strengthening the role of women in employment

Deputy Minister of Social Cohesion & Family Elena Rapti spoke, within the framework of the 2nd Thermopylae Chat, with DIANEOSIS Research Director Faye Makantasi on issues related to her portfolio, with an emphasis on today’s family and support.

The first and main topic of discussion is demographics and the role of women in the workforce.

Ms. Rapti emphasized the importance of supporting the Greek family and referred in detail to measures in favor of the employment of women – mothers. She spoke about the equality marks and businesses that follow the equal treatment policy, as well as about the safeguards to avoid incidents of violence and harassment in the workplace.

” DYPA’s programs and more emphasize the support and encouragement of women’s employment ,” said Ms. Rapti, underlining the protection of maternity with parental leave. She recalled the operation of Vouchers, KDAP and even the institution of “neighborhood nannies” that are aimed at supporting working mothers and the Greek family in general.

The Ministry’s stance towards children is similar, insisting on zero tolerance and fewer victims of domestic violence within the framework of national planning.

Ms. Rapti, having also served in the Ministry of Tourism, did not fail to mention the prospects of the region and the country in general for attracting tourists and increasing the tourism product, mentioning the four strategic goals.
